BRUNSWICK — Dr. Sarah Ackerly of Northern Sun Family Healthcare will lead a discussion about tick bites as she speaks at Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education support meeting at Midcoast Hospital from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. Ackerly will share information on what to do when you are bitten by a tick, from removal to testing and treatment in the prevention of Lyme disease. Learn how to recognize the early symptoms of Lyme disease, timelines and types of testing for Lyme disease and co-infections. Ackerly will also include options for treatment using both conventional and natural therapies in the treatment of tick bites in adults and children.
