BRUNSWICK — Gertrude A. Haney, age 83, of Maquoit Road died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at her home. She was born in Brunswick on November 7, 1929, the daughter of Arlene Harmon.
She attended Brunswick schools. She worked in shoe shops in Freeport and was a homemaker for most of her life.
Gertie enjoyed quahogging and made the best clam chowder in Brunswick by squeezing the bellies of each individual clam. She also liked to do crossword puzzles.
Surviving are 2 grandchildren,
4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Webster Haney, who passed away on August 24, 2009, and her son Roger Haney, who died on October 5, 1992, as well as her brothers and sisters.
There will be no visiting hours. A private graveside service will be held in Maquoit Cemetery, Brunswick, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and son.
Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
