FALMOUTH — Amanda Carver tossed a four-hit shutout to lead the Falmouth High School softball team to a 7-0 Western Maine Conference win over Freeport on Thursday.
Amanda Miles, Leigh Wyman, KC Breed and Hannah Chase each singled for the 5-9 Falcons, who are slated to visit Poland today at 4 p.m.
Wyman took the loss, allowing six hits, seven walks and striking out 10.
The Yachtsmen broke the game open in the fourth, plating five runs for a 6-0 lead. Maddie Inlow doubled in two runs, and RBI singles by Elizabeth Walker and Jessica Collins completed the frame.
Inlow finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Carver struck out nine Freeport hitters.

McKenzie Gray had four hits and tossed a complete-game three-hitter as the host Clippers rolled to a WMC win on Wednesday over 5-8 Freeport.
Gray struck out seven and walked two, while at the plate she singled three times and doubled to pace the Yarmouth (7-7) offense. Mari Cooper chipped in two hits.
Necole Harrison doubled, and Wyman and Venessa Lee each singled for the Falcons, while Wyman and Lee combined on the mound with two strikeouts and eight walks in sloppy conditions.

The Mustangs put the Greyhounds away with a seven-run seventh inning en route to a Mountain Valley Conference win at Lisbon Falls.
Monmouth pitcher Becki Bryant struck out and permitted five hits for the win.
Kyle Kemp and Caroline Bonefant each had two hits to lead the Mustangs’ offense.
Arianna Kahler was 3-for-3 at the plate for Lisbon, which dropped to 3-10 and visits Dirigo on Monday and Mountain Valley on Tuesday.
On the mound, Kailyn Hill struck out three and walked 13, while Kahler relieved and walked one Monmouth hitter.

Rams pitcher Sonja Morse tossed a nohitter and slugged a two-run home run as Cony downed Mt. Ararat in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play at Augusta.
Morse gave Cony (13-1) a 2-0 lead in the first, and on the mound struck out 13 and walked three.
Kim Leslie pitched for the Eagles, allowing three hits, three walks and picking up one strikeout.
Mt. Ararat is 4-10 and slated to host Brunswick today at 4 p.m.
