GARDINER — Kadhar Bernard Bailey, age 25, of Gardiner, Maine died suddenly on February 10, 2017. Kadhar was born in Brunswick, ME and grew up in Gardiner. He was the beloved son of Stephen E. Bailey of Gardiner and Monica Barter- Sawyer of Richmond, ME.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his longtime partner Khrystal ONeil and adored stepson Brian, both of Gardiner; grandparents Laura Frost of Alna, ME, Robert Barter of West Bath, ME and Jane and James Grindel of Bath, ME; a brother, Cory Barter and his wife Sharayah of Sanford, ME, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Tiffany Barter- Ahearn in October 2016.

Although Kadhar had succumbed to many recent challenges, growing up he was a kind, thoughtful young man and had a knack of getting everyone around him to love him. As a child, he loved playing football, spending time with his grandfather, playing video games with his brother and lifting weights. He can be remembered mostly by what a hard worker he was. At age 16, Kadhar shingled his father’s roof, which became a lifelong passion of his. Kadhar started his own roofing company. He was a constant fixture in his Uncle Monty’s work truck, riding along and working any chance he could. He enjoyed wrestling and horsing around with his stepson and nephews. They all loved him dearly. His laugh, humor and big blue eyes will be sorely missed.
