They had been hunting for him for several years as they had established a yearly reunion five years prior. Louie and his wife had the opportunity to attend two reunions in Nashville with his “Muleskinners.”

On Nov. 14, 1970, he married Margaret “Peggy” Adams, his childhood sweetheart.

He was an avid crossword puzzle solver.

He enjoyed all sporting events and missed few games on the television.

The backyard pool was the center for family gatherings and he enjoyed his front porch where he could watch friends driving by, many would stop to sit and talk with Louie. Bowdoin was always his home and he thrived on the lifetime friends he had there.
