
Jean went to St. John’s School and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1957. On October 12, 1957, he married Janice Cunningham and became an apprentice at Bath Iron Works. While at the Ship Yard, he was a welder and later a supervisor and retired after over 20 years of service. During high school, he joined the National Guard, retiring after 25 years.
Jean enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, camping, farming and bee keeping.
He was a member of the Brunswick Elks, Topsham Legion Post 202, and the Bee Keepers Association.
Surviving besides his wife Janice of Topsham, are three sons, Jeffrey and his wife Sharon of Freeport, Michael and his wife Victoria of Cumberland, and Patrick and his wife Candy of Raymond, 5 grandchildren Jessica, Jillian, Amanda, Courtney, Danielle, one great-grandchild Kaelynn, and a brother Joseph Roger Tardiff and his wife Kathi and family of Claremont, N.H.
A memorial service will by held Friday, March 1st at 12 noon at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, with Fr. Frank Murray officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Road, Brunswick, ME 04011.
