To the Editor:
As if Republican’s restrictive Voter ID laws weren’t enough, more than 1,000 pastors from the Alliance Defending Freedom said they would openly defy government restrictions by telling their congregations whom to vote for in the presidential election, and also will endorse candidates.
Remember your history classes: The Internal Revenue Code, Section 501 (c)(3) prohibits tax-exempt churches from intervening in political campaigns. It is time to take away tax-exempt status from churches that think they are above the law.
