
John was a lifelong resident of Harpswell. He was a kind, loving man who had a strong faith in god, enjoyed playing the harmonica, dancing, and doing his carpentry work. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was blessed with Kim his girlfriend and her children who enriched his life with happiness and love. John’s great loves were his family, extended family and friends of South Harpswell and being on the shore there. John and his sister Linda’s love and memories they shared were life’s moments giving them a truly beautiful bond that was forever and devoted.
He was predeceased by his mother Judith V. (Graves) Gilliam, his biological father, Leon Dennis Doyle Jr. and his adoptive father Levi Calbert Gilliam.
John is survived by his daughter, Cassie Hegstrom of Tarkio, MO, his siblings, Linda Dube and her husband Eric of Homestead, FL, Laura Breton and her husband Sean of Lisbon Falls, Elizabeth Doyle of Brewer and Leon Doyle and his wife Jennifer of Topsham, his beloved step mother Joyce Doyle of West Bath, his grandchildren, Velicity and Saphira Hegstrom, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
