WHITEFIELD ( AP) — Firefighters from five towns attacked a fire at a Whitefield home.
An emergency dispatcher for the Lincoln County Sheriff ’s Office says the blaze was reported at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and the house was engulfed in flames by the time firefighting crews arrived.
The Kennebec Journal reports that there was no immediate word on injuries or what caused the blaze.
Nearby roads were closed during the fire.
Jefferson, Somerville, Alna and Windsor firefighters aided the Whitefield department.
