CASTINE — Paced by Sarah Hawkes’ 22 kills, St. Joseph’s swept a Saturday volleyball tri-match with instate opponents Southern Maine and Maine Maritime Academy.

The Monks (2-0) handed a 3- 0 sweep to the Huskies (0-2) before ending the Mariners’ home winning streak at 41 matches.

Hawkes of Pownal put up points on 22 of her 46 swings on the unblemished afternoon to go with six aces, a pair of blocks and 15 digs. She put up 12 kills in the 3-1 win over Maine Maritime.

St. Joseph’s returns home this weekend to host its own invitational.
