PHIPPSBURG
Shortly after being issued a criminal mischief summons for alleged actions at a Bath restaurant Friday night, a Southwest Harber man found himself under arrest in another incident.
Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s deputies charged 34- year-old Adam Bailey with aggravated criminal mischief and domestic violence reckless conduct, after he allegedly caused the vehicle in which he was a passenger to crash in Phippsburg.
The crash occurred on Route 209 just prior to Bisson’s Center Store at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department said Bailey was in the front passenger seat when he allegedly grabbed the steering wheel and yanked it, causing the vehicle to go off the road. Once deputies determined what happened, they arrested Bailey.
He was taken to Mid Coast Hospital for evaluation and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail. No injuries were listed for the person driving the vehicle.
Bath Police Lt. Robert Savary said police were called to The Cabin on Washington Street shortly before 9 p.m. by employees who complained an intoxicated customer, Bailey, had gotten into an argument with another customer and been asked to leave. On his way out Bailey allegedly smashed out a window in front of the restaurant. Bath police issued him a summons for criminal mischief for the broken window.
