BATH — On Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m., Patten Free Library will host an informational session on ranked-choice voting, presented by FairVote Maine, a non-partisan, non-profit-organization to improving democracy through public education on a number of election-reform related issues. The presentation provides a general overview of Ranked Choice Voting, with a focus on how it works, how it compares to the current system of voting, and where it is currently used across the country and around the world. This event is open to the public. The presentation will explain pros and cons, and demonstrate RCV sample ballots and tabulation. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation to allow attendees to gain a thorough, fair, and balanced understanding of the possible benefits and costs of this system.
