DURHAM
State Police say they have found the sport utility vehicle involved in a police chase in Durham last Tuesday.
The purple Chevrolet Tracker was located behind a home on the Leighton Road in Durham by Trooper Jodell Wilkinson on Friday, according to a press release issued by Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The driver of the SUV, Wayne King, 35, was charged by Wilkinson with aggravated operation of a motor vehicle following a suspension and eluding a police officer. King was arrested last Tuesday night on other charges unrelated to the chase. He was located in an apartment house in Lewiston.
State police issued a press release about the chase last week and asked for the public’s help in locating the SUV.
