
Theresa was born in Portland on April 8, 1943, a daughter of Roland A. and Sophie Marie Richard Poliquin, Sr. She attended Bowdoin schools and St. John’s School. She married Wilfred J. Harrington on August 20, 1960 and they had lived in Bowdoin for 43 years moving there from Topsham.
A homemaker most of her life, she had worked at Freeport Shoe and Eastland Shoe. She had also worked at Parkview Hospital and Bowdoin College in Environmental Services.
Theresa enjoyed cooking, day trips with her husband, and especially loved Elvis Presley music, movies and memorabilia. She also enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a member of the Bowdoin Center Baptist Church. Family always put a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. Theresa and Wilfred also enjoyed doing family geneology.
Theresa loved the holidays, especially Christmas, decorating and showing off her doll collection. Family traditions were very important to her.
She is predeceased by her husband who died on June 27, 2008; two sons, Wilfred J Harrington, Jr. in 1967, and Mark Harrington in 1968; two brothers, Leo Poliquin and
Michael Poliquin; and a sister, Cecile King.
Surviving are two daughters, Joanne Campbell and her husband, Marty of Lisbon, and Kathy Decker and her husband, Jim of Bowdoin; three brothers, Roland Poliquin, Jr and his wife, Donna of Topsham, Richard Poliquin of Brunswick, and Gerard Poliquin and his wife, Suzanne of Brunswick; a sister, Irene Berube of Meridan, CT; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special niece and nephew, Mike and Sheri Shorette and their daughters, Brenda and Pennie; and by Robert “Bobby” Decker and his wife, Amy and their children.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6PM Wednesday, July 18, at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 11AM Thursday at the Bowdoin Center Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery in Topsham.
