Bernadette moved to Maine in 1977 to take a job with Bath Iron Works, where she has been employed for 35 years. In August of 1985 she married her best friend Stephen Sibley and the couple resided in Bath to raise their family, moving to Edgecomb a few years ago to enjoy their retirement home.
Bernadette was a woman with a family she loved, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them, a career she excelled at, and had such a positive outlook on life that would make anyone around her smile. In her spare time, Bernadette loved to tend to her garden. She took pride in everything she did, especially her plants. Bernadette leaves behind her loving husband Stephen of Edgecomb, a son, Brandon of Bath and a sister, Rose of Hazleton, PA.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
