A 36-year-old Monmouth man was arrested for operating under the influence late Friday afternoon after allegedly crashing his car into three different vehicles as he traveled down Maine Street.

Patrick Cotnoir, 36, of 15 Chick Drive, Monmouth, was headed north on Maine Street just after 5 p.m. when his 2007 Chrysler allegedly struck the rear of a 2009 Chevrolet parked in front of Henry and Marty Restaurant at 61 Maine St., Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department said Tuesday.

Officers responded to a call from a witness who reported seeing saw Cotnoir strike the three cars, according to Hagan. The witness then used a car to block Cotnoir from leaving the scene.

The witness reported that just prior to that crash, Cotnoir rear-ended a 2005 GMC in front of Joshua’s Restaurant at 123 Main St., and then struck an unoccupied 2004 Ford parked on Maine Street near Jenny Station. The crashes all caused little or no damage, Hagan said.

Cotnoir was charged with operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
