BRUNSWICK

Maine State Music Theatre, in collaboration with Brunswick’s Curtis Memorial Library, has opened a summer-long retrospective exhibition titled “MSMT Past, Present, and Future: Building a Better Tomorrow for the Arts in Midcoast Maine.” The exhibit will be displayed in the Collaboratory of the library for the months of July and August.

To celebrate the opening of MSMT’s exhibition, the organization will hold a reception in the Collaboratory on July 6 at 1 p.m., following the theatre’s regular library talkback series “A Peek Behind the Curtain.” The talkback, held in the Morrell Reading Room, starts at noon and will focus on MSMT’s second production of the summer, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Evita.” Visitors can expect over one hundred documents, props, set models and costumes to be displayed, as well as an interactive children’s corner.

MSMT aims to draw attention to the rich history of the cultural institution and encourages community members to become involved in the success of the theatre in years to come.

Curtis Memorial Library is located at 23 Pleasant St., Brunswick. The library is open 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6p.m. on Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
