MONMOUTH

The Theater at Monmouth’s 2016 Family Show features a new adaptation of the classic tale of a feline master-mind: “Puss in Boots,” adapted for the stage by producing artistic director, Dawn McAndrews, opens on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Each summer, TAM presents a play for children of all ages adapted from classic literature. Due to the popularity of past Family Shows, Puss in Boots will run throughout the season including weekday and weekend performances.

Director Stacey Koloski enjoys the rich history of storytelling involved in the production.

“Our ‘Puss in Boots’ will be a familiar tale,” she said. “There will be plenty of colorful characters facing plenty of entertaining moral dilemmas. There will be magic …and there will be boots! But there will also be new twists and unexpected turns. We may even borrow from some of Perrault’s other fairy tales as we search for our happily ever after.”

“Puss in Boots” opens Saturday at 1 p.m. Additional performance dates are July 9, 16 and 23, Aug. 2, 6, 9, 12 and 18 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Discounts available for groups of 10 or more. For calendar and reservations, contact the TAM Box Office at (207) 933-9999 or visit theateratmonmouth.org.
