HARRISBURG, Pa.

The Portland Sea Dogs (16 28) got even in the four- game Eastern League series with the Harrisburg Senators (22- 21), winning 5-4 on Tuesday night at FNB Field in front of 2,787 fans.

Portland snapped a three-game losing streak and ended Harrisburg’s seven-game win streak.

Keith Couch ( 3- 0) worked 6-plus innings on six hits and four runs to earn the win for Portland. Chandler Shepherd hurled two scoreless with four strikeouts to pick up the hold and Mitch Atkins pitched the ninth for his second save of the year.

The Sea Dogs went to work right away, scoring two runs off losing pitcher Reynaldo Lopez in the first inning. Henry Ramos ( 2- for- 5) and Sean Coyle (2-for-4) set the table with singles. Andrew Benintendi knocked in the first run with a sacrifice . Later in the frame, Aneury Tavarez delivered a sac-fly to left.

In the third, Coyle led off the inning with a solo home run, his second in many games, giving the Sea Dogs a 3- 0 lead.

Portland added two runs in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Rainel Rosario and a fielder’s choice RBI by Ali Solis.

The teams play the third game of the series tonight at 7 p.m.
