
Following the completion of her schooling and graduation from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA, she married Edward Schmidt of Milltown, NJ on October 4, 1941.
Ed and K made Easton, MD their home for many years. K enjoyed playing golf, sailing, birding, traveling, and was known to be a fierce pool player. In her later years, she enjoyed various community activities while living at The Highlands in Topsham.
Sadly, K was preceded in death by her youngest son Geoffrey Thaddeous ‘Tad’ in 1968, and Ed after 48 years of marriage in 1989.
She is survived by her two children; Edward ‘Sandy’ Schmidt and wife Betsy of Brunswick, ME, Joel ‘Josh’ Schmidt and wife Cathy of Arnold, MD; grandchildren Steve Schmidt and wife Maia, Melissa Dervishian and husband John, Bear Schmidt and wife Masha, Emilie Schmidt Howell and husband Stuart, Sarah Stanley and husband Dan; as well as great-grandchildren Ian & Sonia Schmidt, Natalie & Sophia Dervishian, Caleb & Isa Schmidt, and Camden Howell.
K requested no funeral services be held upon her passing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to People Plus 35 Union Street, Brunswick, ME 04011.
The Schmidt Family would like to thank the staff at The Highlands for the patient and supportive care they provided to K over the last 3 years.
