MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — Classes are resuming in a southwest Ohio school district, two days after authorities say a 14-year-old boy shot students in a school cafeteria.
Madison Local Schools officials say staff members will ride on buses this morning and be outside the school complex to welcome students back.
Some 1,600 students from pre-K through grade 12 attend the schools just west of Middletown.
Crisis counselors will be on hand and extra staffers will join students for lunch in the cafeteria where the shootings occurred. Authorities say two students were shot on Monday and two others hurt, possibly by shrapnel or while running away.
Families were able to walk through the schools Tuesday evening.
The 14-year-old shooting suspect remains in juvenile detention.
