PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The Boston Red Sox have named Kevin Boles as the new leader of the Pawtucket Red Sox, the team’s fifth manager in the past six seasons.
Boles coached the Portland Sea Dogs the past two seasons, compiling a 68-73 record.
The 38-year-old has also managed at the rookie or Single-A level with the Red Sox, Miami Marlins, Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins organizations.
Boles has a 797-786 career record during his 13 years managing in the minors.
Boles is the son of former Florida Marlins manager John Boles.
He replaces Gary DiSarcina, who led the PawSox for the 2013 season. He left to become the third-base coach of the Los Angeles Angels.
