BATH — The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust is hosting its annual Fall Environmental Lecture on Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Maine Maritime Museum in Long Reach Hall. The program, “Adapting Our Home: Understanding the Relationship between Stormwater, Infrastructure and Nature,” will begin at 7 p.m. Speakers will be from the Bath Planning and Development Department and Ransom Consulting Engineers and Scientists.
Engineers Steve Dyer and Kevin Trainor will discuss the evaluation of Bath’s downtown stormwater drain system and adjacent paved areas. The goal of the study is to identify low-impact solutions to respond to storm-related threats, like flooding and polluted stormwater runoff. These threats can significantly impact downtown infrastructure, businesses, homes, and local wildlife. Andrew Deci, the City of Bath’s Director of Planning and Development, will share how this study’s findings will provide a path forward for future development.
