FREEPORT — The Freeport High School athletic department has big plans for this weekend’s Homecoming festivities.
The boys and girls cross country teams compete in the Western Maine Conference championships at St. Joseph’s College in Standish at 3 p.m. on Friday.
Later that day, the FHS student and community cookout will be held at 6 p.m. at the new entrance to the high school. Parents are invited to attend.
At 7:15 p.m., a bonfire will take place, ending at 8:15 p.m.
On Saturday, there is a full slate of games. The girls jayvee soccer team kicks things off at Hunter Road Fields at 10 a.m., followed by the girls varsity squad at 11:45 a.m. Both teams host Poland. At 2p .m., the boys varsity soccer team is in action, also against Poland, while at 2:30 p.m. at Pownal Recreation Field, the Falcons entertain Gardiner in football action. The jayvee boys soccer team takes on Poland at 3:45 p.m.
The homecoming dance will be held at FHS from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
