A Portland man was taken to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries Tuesday after his car rolled over along Interstate 295 Northbound in Bowdoinham.
Reported at 3:37 a.m., state police say the crash happened after Ly M. Danh, 45, of Portland, swerved to avoid a deer and likely over-corrected. Police say the Nissan Altima went off the right side of the road and struck a light pole.
Bowdoinham Fire Chief Arthur Frizzle said Danh had to be extricated from the vehicle. Danh was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries that weren’t expected to be life threatening.
Danh’s passenger, Khan Dy, also from Portland, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center as well.
Trooper Eric Verhill said no charges will be issued.
