KENNEBUNK — Businesses that are ready for Marketing Makeover can walk away from an upcoming workshop with a plan to help their business stand out in 2021.

Marketing strategists Doug Spurling of Spurling Fitness and Maureen Flaherty of Kennebunk Savings will lead a practical, hands-on marketing workshop as a way to elevate local businesses to the next level. In the three-hour session scheduled for March 10 — live and in person from the new Infinity Center at Spurling Fitness in Kennebunk, or remotely via Zoom — Marketing Makeover will cover:

· Finding a market/client/audience;
· Defining why vs. your what;
· The message – what a business wants/needs to say;
· Defining a voice – how it should sound;
· Spreading a message – Tuning the channels;
· Creating offers that stick;
· Creating a plan for the next 90 days.

Attendees will walk away with handouts and a practical customized marketing plan.

According to a Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel press release, “Maureen Flaherty is a marketing executive who loves helping people and organizations bring their brands to life. Her career path has led her to a variety of roles, including a founding executive for an influential digital marketing firm in Portland, Oregon, a senior marketing executive for businesses within the Mars, Inc., and IDEXX umbrellas, and an urban design and landscape architect in the London office of a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.

“During her years working as an agency executive, she developed branding and marketing strategy for some of the globe’s top consumer brands. In her most recent role as chief marketing officer for Kennebunk Savings, Flaherty has been a change agent bringing a fresh direction for the bank’s branding, marketing, social media, public relations and communications efforts.”

This year, Flaherty is expanding into a new role at Kennebunk Savings as executive vice president, chief marketing and customer experience officer. She will oversee the strategic direction of the bank’s brand as well as the expansion of its customer-centric approach to customer delivery through its network of 17 branches in York County and Seacoast New Hampshire.
