I urge District 2 Portland residents to vote for Atiim Boykin for City Council.
I met Atiim in 2020 when he joined the “Leadership Portland” program and I was the Cumberland County District Attorney. From our first interaction, I could tell that Atiim was a critical thinker with empathy for those marginalized in our community. He has a wide variety of life experience: in the criminal justice system, in social services and in the arts and music.
Currently, he works as an intensive case manager for those with mental health and substance use disorder issues. This work has a profound impact for everyone in the community since he helps guide our most vulnerable citizens through what can be difficult systems.
We are lucky to have someone like Atiim working in our community and the City of Portland would be fortunate to have him on the City Council.
