Officials believe a prisoner who left a job site in Thomaston on Monday is traveling with a New Hampshire woman and have issued arrest warrants for both of them.
The Maine Department of Corrections said Tuesday that it obtained an arrest warrant for Brian Day, 45, who left a job site in Thomaston on Monday without permission. The department also said it obtained an arrest warrant for Candice Fisher, 45, of New Hampshire.
Officials believe they are travelling together in a maroon, 2011 Nissan Altima.
The department requested that anyone with information about Fisher or Day’s whereabouts call 911 and not approach them.
Day, who was sentenced in October to 3 1/2 years for offenses including theft and forgery, was being held at Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren. He had “earned a certification level of community custody” that allowed him to work in the community during the day, the department said Monday.
The department said its Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team is working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement.
