Andrew Duhon

Andrew Duhon has been called “another world-class voice from Louisiana, another soulful, mesmerizing singer who writes emotional songs with impact and heart,” and on Saturday, May 23, this blues and folk troubadour travels far and arrives in Maine to play at the historic Boothbay Harbor Opera House.

Duhon is touring on what he’s calling the “Stop Motion Tour 2026” — wandering from New Orleans to North Carolina to Saratoga to New York City, before heading towards Maine on Memorial Day weekend and then onward to Annapolis, Texas, Colorado and New Mexico, bringing his trio music to major festivals and smaller outposts.

Audience members can expect an upbeat musicality from this New Orleans native as he plays his tunes with upright bassist Myles Weeks and drummer Jim Kolacek singing three-part harmony. John Scott of the LA Beat wrote, “Duhon brings the craft of a master short story writer to his songs and in doing so creates a series of skillfully rendered vignettes.” He knows how to craft an appealing song and how to sell it on stage, and Opera House audience members have remarked that he brings to mind a young Dylan.

With Laura Risk on fiddle, Nicholas Williams of Genticorum on accordion and flute, and Rachel Aucoin of Eloise & Co on piano, Traverse has been called “gorgeous, refreshing” by The Guardian, while Songlines calls their music “mature, dignified and rewarding.” The trio draws from deep immersion into traditional musical communities, from Montreal to the Gaspé via Scotland, as well as a curiosity towards innovation and exploration. The result is “melodically memorable, beautifully played, heart-lifting music, full of intelligence, delicacy and detail,” according to Roots World. All three musicians have been deeply involved with traditional Québécois music for decades. Together, they play with knife’s-edge precision and a rare intuitive connection that draws audiences into a riveting musical experience.
