First, I lived in Maine a short time, from 1994-1997. I loved it, however, the Navy had other places for me to go. I am now 68 years old and firmly believe that politicians should be forced to retire at the age of 65.
Airline pilots are forced to retire at 65 due to their diminishing physical skills and mental acuity. It is clear that those in the Senate who are over the age of 65 are rapidly approaching completely diminished skills. Further, new blood needs to replenish the old; new ideas, new energy, etc.
Additionally, regarding Sen. Susan Collins, she does not represent Mainers. She represents AIPAC, Israel and Republican politics. That is not what Mainers are about. They are self-sufficient, independent and good people.
It is time to retire Susan Collins for the sake of Maine.
