I have been listening to and watching CBS News for decades and associate it with legendary broadcasters like Walter Cronkite and Mike Wallace.

I was saddened when its new leadership eliminated the CBS Radio news broadcasts. Today, I’m outraged by its treatment of “60 Minutes,” the most prestigious, respected news show on television.

New management at CBS News has let correspondents and editors at “60 Minutes” go, and stories have been delayed and softened, in an effort to stay in the good graces of the Trump administration. It’s shocking to see.

When corporate owners capitulate to strongmen, rather than protect the editorial independence of their newsgathering, we all lose.
