I really appreciated Douglas Rooks’ June 3 column, “To understand the manhunt against Platner, dig a little deeper.”
Graham Platner’s posts, texts and tats have absolutely zero effect on my life. Things that do have an effect on my life, and on other people in Maine, across the country and around the world: Will we be able to afford to pay for gas and to heat the house this winter? Will food prices continue to rise? What will be the next pointless war that Donald Trump starts? Will Trump continue to push for cuts to everything from education to weather forecasting to pay for his wars?
Sen. Susan Collins has enabled Trump every step of the way, and the votes where he lets her off the leash are meaningless. We need people like Platner in the Senate to begin to undo the damage that Collins has done nothing to prevent.
