Many of us are tired of old politicians who continually give us the same tired excuses of why the government is unable to provide what the average person wants and needs, but always seem able to provide what the rich and powerful ask for.
Many of us are looking for change. It would be nice if that change was provided by flawless candidates without blemishes or mistakes, but I want someone who has identified the right objectives and will fight the system to obtain them. What objectives? Provide universal healthcare and restore cuts to social safety net programs, government agencies and foreign aid.
To fund these, increase taxes on millionaires and reduce defense spending. None of this will be easy and will not happen unless we seek candidates outside the system. Maine has done that, which is why I support Graham Platner.
