The song bracket competition “Manie Musicale” was created by Falmouth Middle School teacher Michelle Fournier in 2017 and now has over 800,000 participants in 35 countries.

Her memories of briefly living on Mount Desert Island as a child drew her back to Maine to attend Bowdoin College, and back again to Portland after a year in Alaska.
