A new school year kicked off today for many schools in Cumberland and York counties.

The resolution comes after about 50 protesters picket outside Biddeford High School to demand action in response to allegations of sexual abuse by a former officer.

Roger Beaupre, through his attorney, said he is sorry no charges were filed but also criticizes what he says are baseless accusations of misconduct by him and others.

A protest will be held before a City Council meeting Tuesday.
