The Westbrook American reported on May 27, 1959, that Maurice Dugas of Westbrook had completed Navy basic training at Great Lakes in Illinois. Dugas, a seaman, was assigned to the USS Cascade, based in Newport, Rhode Island. Harold Dyer of White Rock was named marshal of Gorham’s Memorial Day parade.
