The Westbrook American reported on July 9, 1958, that Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cumberland of Westbrook left to visit relatives and friends in New Brunswick. The Westbrook City Council, following board procedure issues and a heated debate, granted temporary taxi permits to Albert Girard, Matty Direnzo and Curtis Randall.
