Gorham remembered
Gorham’s first Civil Defense Rescue Unit was organized in September 1961. Under director Harold Joy, the unit had three teams of four people, and all members were trained in first aid. Civil Defense was headquartered in the fire station, which was then next to Robie Gym on South Street.
