In this picture, Workmen demolish the Westbrook Congregational Church Hall, which was located on Brackett Street behind the church. The back part of the old church can be seen to the left of the photo. The church was built in 1832 on Main Street at Brackett Street, and the church hall was built at a later date. Both buildings were taken during Urban Renewal in the early 1970s. The section of Brackett Street between Main Street and William Clarke Drive was discontinued, and a small mall occupies the site of these buildings.
