The Town Clerk’s office staff has been busy this winter transcribing old town records into digital form. When this project is completed it will greatly improve the ability to retrieve historical town information.
The annual municipal election to vote for Town Council, Planning Board, Budget Committee, SAD 6 Directors and local referendum questions will be held at the George E. Jack gym on June 14 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. At that same time, the town will vote for the SAD 6 budget and may vote on state bond issues if any are brought forward. Absentee ballots will be available approximately on May 13. If you are interested in obtaining an absentee ballot or other election related questions call Mary Chapman at 642-4678.
The Annual Town Meeting presenting the town’s fiscal year 2006 budget to voters will be held at the Standish Municipal Center beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2005.
If you are interested in serving the Town of Standish, the Appointments Committee is accepting applications for the Appeals Board, Assessment Review Board, Public Safety Committee, Recreation Committee, Recycling Committee, Saco River Cable Committee, Saco River Cable Committee Board of Directors and Special Review Board. Interested persons can apply on line at the Town of Standish Web site or by calling Mary Chapman to have an application sent you.
