This photo shows the Westbrook Trust Company’s main office at 849 Main St. The Westbrook Trust Company was established in 1890, and the original bank was located to the right of this building. Leander Valentine, the first mayor of Westbrook, served as president of the Westbrook Trust Company from 1890 to the time of his death in 1895. The Westbrook Trust Company had branches in Cumberland Mills and Prides Corner. Norstar Bank acquired the Westbrook Trust Company, and, after a series of mergers, the bank is now owned by Bank of America.
