What is your position with the city and how long have you been on the job?

I am a firefighter/EMS provider. I’ve been with the Westbrook Fire Department for three months.

What is your background? Where did you go to school?

I grew up in Portland. I went to college at Southern Maine Community College where I got a degree in fire safety. While I was in college, I worked as a student live-in for the Gorham Fire Department at their central station.

What kind of duties does your job entail?

I respond on all emergency medical calls, fire calls and calls for service. Over the last month, I’ve been put in charge of the fire prevention program here, so I go around to all the area schools and host tours of the fire station

What is the most likely way that your job causes you to interact with the general public?

Anyway. Everything we do in some way comes in contact with the general public. Anytime we get a call for anything we go out there and do what we can to help.

What do you like most about your job?

I like the atmosphere here. I love the people I work with.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to spend time with my family. I also like to read and catch an occasional movie.
