I have lived very happily in Westbrook for 10 years, and for seven of them I have worked at Idexx Laboratories. I have witnessed the company’s growth first-hand, and this has offered me many opportunities, for which I am grateful. As a learning technologies manager, I provide online learning and training to our company’s salespeople in the companion animal area of the business. Not only do I love what I do, but also I love my pets whose lives have been touched by the work that is done at Idexx.

The recent announcement by Idexx to expand here in Westbrook is very exciting and the community should be proud to have the scientific minds at work here at Idexx, committed to staying in Maine. I am always amazed at the products and services that are being created and manufactured right here, and I believe this company has made a huge difference in the lives of America’s pets.

I also know that Westbrook is on the cusp of an exciting “rebirth,” and an Idexx expansion can only help to solidify this move. Bringing more workers into the city increases the homes that can be built and sold, delivers more customers to patronize local businesses and puts Westbrook on the map as a city that supports high-tech and innovative companies.

I am excited at the prospect of the expansion in Westbrook, and proud that Westbrook is becoming a more attractive city for both business and housing.
