Season outlook: “Young team with only three seniors and 10 juniors. Very solid defensively. Pitching will have to earn respect but could be impressive. Hitting will determine our season. Need to improve on 2005 team batting average of .202.”
Softball
Coach: Jan Corliss (24th year)

How did last season end: Lost in quarterfinal versus Deering
Key players: Seniors Kelly Johnson, captain, SS, 2B, P; Courtney Wallace, captain, C, 1B; Llia Conway, CF; Jess Bettney, 3B; Ashley Perrone, LF; Natasha Taylor, RF; Jess Nassetta, 2B, SS; Cassie Coste, P; and junior Kaitlin Williams, P.
Season outlook: “With five returning starters and eight seniors, we expect to be extremely competitive this year. We have excellent pitching, very good hitting, excellent defense and speed on the bases. We will be going to spring training at Disney Wide World of Sports from April 8-15, where we can work on our deficiencies. Let the season begin, and see where it goes!
Boys Lacrosse
Coach: Nat Germond (2nd year)
Last season’s record: 3-9
How did last season end: Beat Noble in OT last game of the regular season. Did not make playoffs.

Girls Lacrosse
Coach: Judy Martin (2nd year)

How did last season end: Finished 8th seed. Lost to Waynflete in quarterfinals.
Key players: Stephanie Bush, offense, leading scorer last year; Jamie Ketch, midfield; Emily Harvey and Amy Richardson, defense; Meghan Ledoux, goal.
Season outlook: “New lacrosse division will make it interesting. Expect to be in a strong playoff position.”
Boys Track
Coach: Greg Wilkinson (18th year)
Last season’s record: Under .500
How did last season end: Third at the state meet
Key players: Ben Roy, Evan Embry, Eric Favreau, John Wiechman, Sean Smith, Greg Gadbois and David Carl
Season outlook: “It’s a competitive league with a lot of excellent teams. We have a lot of senior returnees, and we should be competitive. We look to better ourselves each week, and hopefully we’ll be battle-tested for the big meets.”
Girls Track
Coach: John Turrell (8th year)
Last season’s record: 12-3
Key players: Kristen Adams (senior): 100m, 200m; Amber Cronin (junior): high jump; Katherine Pagano (junior): one mile, two mile; Lindsay Dyer (freshman): 800m run; Kelly Martin (soph) and Kelly Stone (junior): 400m dash; Alex Corbran (junior) and Katlyn Gardner (soph): hurdles.
Season outlook: We have strong performers in all the running events and the high jump. Our weakness is in the throwing events. We have only one senior, so we will be relying on young but experienced athletes. We expect to be very competitive in our strong events. We are hoping to match our last season’s record of 12-3.
Girls Tennis
Coach: Tom Carlisle (1st year)
Last season’s record: 4-14
Key players: Senior Emily Larrabee and junior Laura Bell; Carly Kesson should come on strong late in the season.
Season outlook: “It’s going to be an interesting mix of young and old. It will be a rebuilding year. The girls are terrific and I’m looking forward to the season.”
Boys Tennis
Coach: Bill Steinroeder (2nd year)
Last season’s record: 3-8
How did last season end: We finished one spot out of the playoffs
Key players: Eben Larrabee, Josh Douin, Suniel Mickelson and James Hanley
Season outlook: “We lost one player from last year. I think we’ll be competitive.”
