The American Cancer Society will host a Relay For Life of Greater Portland on June 2-3 at the Falmouth Middle School in Falmouth.

Two activities open to the public are the cancer survivors’ lap and the luminaria ceremony. For more information on Relay For Life, or the public events contact the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.

On June 2, at 6:15 p.m. there will be a cancer survivor recognition. Cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer) from the Greater Portland area are invited to walk the first lap of the American Cancer Society Relay For

Life.

Each cancer survivor will receive a sash to wear while walking the track. There will also be a reception for survivors. There is no cost to participate. Cancer survivors should call the American Cancer Society to register. Families are welcome to attend.

On June 2, at 10 p.m., a luminaria ceremony will be held to recognize those touched by cancer in the Greater Portland area. Individuals or companies can make contributions in memory of those lost to cancer and in honor of those who have survived.

Each person will be recognized by a lit candle lantern, which will be displayed at the Relay For Life of Greater Portland. Luminaria contributions can be made by calling the American Cancer Society.
