A three-way race for a selectman’s seat is underway in Buxton.

Incumbent Cliff Emery, Peter Burns and Dennis Santolucito are all vying for the one available three-year term as selectman. Emery currently chairs the Board of Selectman; Burns chairs the Budget Committee; and Santolucito is a member of the Planning Board.

Five other candidates filed their nomination papers for other races by the 4:30 p.m. deadline on May 1. Incumbents Sandra G. Plummer and Cynthia Hazelton are both running unopposed for three-year terms for the SAD 6 board of directors.

For other unopposed positions, Barbara Elwell turned in her papers for a two-year term on the planning board; Cynthia Santolucito submitted nomination papers for the personnel review committee; and Larry Miller turned in nomination papers for a three-year term on the budget committee.

Voters will choose one of the three candidates for selectman as well as deciding all of the other races at an election on Tuesday, June 13.
