As president of the board of directors for Mission Possible Teen Center, I would like to say thank you to everyone who made our recent benefit dinner such a success. A special thank you goes to our sponsors, State Farm Insurance and Disability RMS. I would also like to thank the Bob Charest Band for the wonderful entertainment that they provided.
There are many individuals that helped us put together such a great event, but I would like to give special recognition to Barbara Soloway, a new member of our board, for going above and beyond to coordinate the whole event. A thank you also goes out to our board of directors and the staff at Mission Possible. Without their participation this event could not have happened.
Because of the generosity of all of those who participated in this event, the teen center will be able to continue to serve local teenagers. We will be able to provide hundreds of kids a safe environment where they can spend their time after they get out of school to do homework, visit with friends or participate in the many activities and programs the center provides. Last year the center provided several thousand hot meals to the teens at the center. The money we raised will allow us to continue to provide hot meals to the teens. For some, these are the only hot meals they will get.
Again, I would just like to say thank you to everyone that helped make this event successful and for the continuing support that this community provides to Mission Possible. Without the support of this community, this center would not be to provide the services our teens need.
If you would like to get more information on the center or would like to volunteer, please visit our website at mptcteens.org or call our Executive Director Evelyn Blanchard at 854-2800.
