The Westbrook Star Laundry occupied the old building in the picture at left at 1 Carpenter St. for many years.
The old Westbrook Police Station was located on Carpenter Street across from this building. Carpenter Street was a narrow dead end street that ran from Main Street, opposite Bridge Street and was eliminated during Urban Renewal.
The Star Laundry relocated to Eisenhower Drive and this old building that once served as a livery stable was demolished as part of Urban Renewal.
A one story office complex and parking lot now occupy this site.
