Three local horse farms will open to the public noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, as part of Maine Standardbred Farm Day.

The three are Race Me Stables, 350 East Bridge Street, Westbrook; Lindon Farm, 233 Bonny Eagle Road, Hollis; and Three Crow Farm, 64 Flaggy Meadow Road, Gorham.

Each of the farms will offer door prizes, coloring books and stickers for children along with refreshments. Visitors will see how horses are raised and trained for harness racing.

The event is sponsored by the Maine Harness Racing Promotion Board.
