Wescott Junior High School students were selected Dec. 7 for a regional honors band.
The selected students had participated in the Southern Maine Middle School Honors and Auditions held at Wescott on Nov. 1. Seven local schools sent students to audition for selection into the ensemble.
Of the students selected, four received top scores on their instruments – Arika DiRenzo, french horn; Emily Olmstead, bass clarinet; Kyle McKay, clarinet; Sarah Foster, trombone.
Eleven other students were also selected as honors band members: Tate Herbert, alto saxophone; Zach Dugas, alto saxophone; Glenn Emery, trumpet; Kara LaRochelle, clarinet; Jenna Rodrigues, flute; Dakin Camp, flute; Hannah Gowen, flute; Dylan Cowsert, baritone horn; Micah Wroten, trombone; Ryan Donahue, trombone; Kayla Doiron, french horn.
The Wescott Junior High Band is under the direction of Krystle Y. Plasse.
